Indie Film Fest Celebrates Its Fifth Year of Local and International
Independent Films In Phoenix
Indie Film Fest 2023 Official Selection Announcements
Phoenix, AZ -- We proudly celebrate our fifth anniversary by showcasing independent films and filmmakers worldwide. This year, in celebration of our fifth anniversary, Indie Film Fest, is moving to a five-day festival that will take place at multiple venues in downtown Phoenix.
Our festival extravaganza includes documentary features, short films, music videos, virtual reality adventures, and multimedia installations. Our community-organized film fest takes over downtown Phoenix and features more than 40 official selections worldwide, including top filmmakers in the southwest. This year we will introduce a new night, The Original Storytellers Night, at Cahokia PHX, a creative platform to launch ideas in downtown Phoenix. The night will include Indigenous films, fashion, storytelling, and the Rise Projection Show curated by IndigeDesignCollab. Each night the festival will give indie film lovers a chance to enjoy exclusive film premieres, conversations, and Q&As with the filmmakers themselves. The festival is not just about the films but also the culture growing in downtown Phoenix. We will host free workshops at Cahokia PHX and open-air filming challenges at Indie Film Fest. Our goal this year is to raise more than $10,000 with our nonprofit partners Roosevelt Row CDC, for our community grant fund that will award five Grand Jury Prize Winners at the end of the festival. This community grant comes from community members, local businesses, and community organizations that will provide a sustainable investment in independent artists and films.

About Indie Film Fest
What began with a group of filmmakers coming together to create change in the film industry in AZ, now Indie Film Fest is the hub for the creative direction of the year in downtown Phoenix. In 2018 after screening our films in festivals all around the world and seeing the lack of PR and Promotion from festivals, the discrimination of putting white male directors ahead of everyone else, and an awareness of the cost it is having on the indie film industry, a small group of indie filmmakers living in Phoenix decided to create a festival that would be focused on the filmmakers and the artists who are making these amazing pieces of art. Indie Film Fest was born with a multi-day / multi-venue concept in the heart of downtown Phoenix, AZ during the month of February. Through the years we have screened films from all over the world in front of our sold out audiences at venues like The Film Bar, The Churchill, The Irish Culture Center, and even outside at the Roosevelt Row Welcome Center. We have raised thousands of dollars for non profits like Made In Her Image and Roosevelt Row CDC who help fund arts programs for aspiring artists in our city.
